In the past, Senior Advocate has provided relevant information by publishing a print magazine and, more recently, by hosting large educational events throughout Hampton Roads. Now, as we all know, times have changed and during this coronavirus pandemic, all of our current Senior Advocate events have been rescheduled to later dates. While we understand that we should not currently gather in large numbers, we still strive to educate our seniors by sharing timely information with them.
So, we have created this Virtual Hampton Roads Town Hall on the Coronavirus (Covid-19) to get answers to some of the questions that we have received from our Senior Advocate followers. We hope you find the panel informative and helpful during these times.
We would like to give our distinguished panel members our deepest gratitude for their valuable time and helpful insights.

Walt Zaremba began his legal career in 1993 as a General Practice Attorney concentrating on estate planning, contract law, business organization and domestic relations. Walt’s legal practice has evolved into a firm which dedicates itself to Estate Planning and Elder Law. The firm’s mission is to ensure that clients are provided with an estate plan that “works.” In other words, the firm is committed to creating an estate plan, tailored to the individual client that enables the client, not the court system or governmental bureaucracies, to stay in control of their health and wealth regardless of their current and future circumstances.
In 1995, Walt was elected to serve his community as a member of the York County Board of Supervisors serving the citizens of the first district. He is now in his fifth four-year term. Walt considers himself privileged to serve the citizens of York County which includes the town of Yorktown where America’s freedom was won on October 19, 1781. David Clemens has the privilege of serving as a First Vice President, Portfolio Management Director, and Insurance Planning Director with Morgan Stanley in Williamsburg, VA. He focuses his efforts on designing and implementing wealth management strategies for high net worth families. By listening carefully to each client’s goals, values, aspirations and concerns, David is able to serve as their trusted financial advisor.
After graduating from Fairfield University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, David spent several years pursuing a career in the biotech field with a focus on cancer research. He soon found that as much as he appreciated a disciplined approach to research, working directly with people was a deeper calling.
David began my career in financial services in part because of a strong curiosity for markets and investing, but also because of the opportunity to help people live a meaningful and dignified life. He focuses primarily on advising his clients on all matters pertinent to their family’s wealth.
David enjoys a balanced life with his wife Heather, his son Chris, and his daughter Mary. As an active member of the Williamsburg, VA community since 1998, David commits his time and efforts to several volunteer organizations including the Williamsburg Youth Baseball League, the Boy Scouts, St. Bede Catholic Church, Walsingham Academy, and The Williamsburg House of Mercy.

Senior Advocate (SeniorAdvocate.Live) was established in Hampton Roads, Virginia in 2000 by Stephanie Smith. Her experience in caring for her grandmother, who developed Alzheimer's disease, sparked Smith’s interest in issues involving the needs of older adults. Her hands-on experience providing care management for seniors and their families made her aware that these families were often ill-informed about resources available to help them. She also became aware that even the professionals who were providing services to seniors were frequently in need of additional information and options. Senior Advocate is committed to meeting those needs through hosting educational events and by promoting SeniorAdvocate.Live, an informative, up-to-date website for both seniors and healthcare professionals. Senior Advocate strives to provide regional, comprehensive, and targeted information to empower seniors to live healthy, productive lives and to allow professionals to be as knowledgeable as possible about local services and healthcare initiatives.
This was such a fun project and we could not have done it without our wonderful panel members and all the support from Christie Privette at Two17 Marketing!
Excellent presentation Stephanie! This was very helpful both professionally and personally. Thank you! Cassie
